Just compiling a list of contacts and schools of Auckland so that we can send out the information about the committee. This afternoon I am going to call the schools that did not provide department emails on their website and attain direct art department emails. We are designing a promotional poster that we will attach to the email with the intention that this will be printed out and put up at the schools so it is not just mentioned to the students but also verbalised. This will generate more interest to have a visual reference point.
We came up with a committee mission statement/philosophy which has been really good for us to use as a framework for what we are looking for in the committee and what they can expect. This is as follows:
The Artstation young arts committee exists as a bridge between the coordinators of Artstation and the younger demographic of Auckland. The committee is in charge of updating the blog in regard to artstation information as well as providing information about arts in Auckland. The blog, called The Art Eater, is an artistic portal; a hybrid of information about Artstation and the arts of Auckland in general. The committee will communicate with a strong initiative and will organise events in consultation with Artstation staff to promote artstation to a younger target audience. They will be in a position to provide feedback on classes and make suggestions to the coordinators about what may appeal more to younger people. They will be the intermediary between artstartion and their own artistic institution, be in a uni, school or other.
